A Big Honking Deal

January 25, 2008

As we were all convalescing in the sick room (aka the living room) we were jolted out of our stupors by the sound of our van simultaneously honking and the alarm going off. I turned off the alarm with the remote key pad and thought we were done with it. Less than ten minutes later it did the same thing, except the horn didn’t stop with the alarm this time. It honked for at least five minutes* before Lawrence located the fuse and pulled it out. As embarrassing as this is, and believe me, honking is loud when it is constant and you think everybody in the neighborhood is looking at you, this isn’t the first van that has done this to us. We had a Windstar that did the same thing. That actually did it in the middle of the night several times. Once we were even on a long weekend in Colorado and pulling into a motel parking lot to find a room and it started honking and wouldn’t stop. (Remember that Mom?)

So, now I’m without a horn until we find a fix.

*I could only giggle and think of Little Miss Sunshine.

Oh yes, I do remember that! It seemed twice as bad as it normally would because it was in the middle of the night!

Hope you find a fix for your horn!
