A Rude Awakening

November 19, 2007

You know what’s worse than having to attend to your child at 11:45pm because she has woken up? Attending to her because she has woken up and vomited…all over her hair, bedding and favorite dolly. Then having to give a bath and strip and remake the bed. I’m glad Lawrence was here last night. He worked on the bedding while I worked on the Isabel. She had lasagna for dinner. That’s pretty gross to clean up. Then back into bed and then another regurgitation. Thankfully there was a bowl handy that time. I brewed some peppermint tea, dropped some peppermint oil on two corners of her pillow and tucked her in again. After a bit she drifted off to sleep without any further incident during the night. She is definitely not herself today, however. Anytime she willing naps during the day is time to check her forehead.

Ohhhhh, Poor Isabel… and poor Mama and Daddy.

UGH! I hate that stuff. I hope she feels much better very soon and that the rest of you stay healthy.

    I’m thinking of you.

My heart is full of empathy for you. We have just finished a round of some flu bug that we’ve had for over 3 weeks. I am thankful, though, that it went one person at a time since we only have the one bathroom. And, as soon as the first one came down with it – I never served anything like lasagna – experience does have it’s rewards. 🙂 It’s funny how you start thinking about things like that after you start having kids because what they ate for supper matters in the middle of the night……. We’ll be praying for you. Pop lots of vitamin C (Shonda Parker’s recommendation) and immune booster into everyone else and hopefully Isabel will be the only one down with this.

I hope she gets to feeling better soon, for her sake and for yours and Lawrence’s. Give her a hug for me!
