Last night we finished a wonderful movie. Sometimes it takes us multiple nights to get through a movie because one or both of us falls asleep. Joyeux Noel was inspired by actual events during Christmas Eve of 1914 during WWI. It is a beautiful expression of the humanity of people. Since we are in the middle of a war, the sentiments were especially touching. If we could all realize what those soldiers did, that we mostly all strive for similar things-that we are all parents, husbands, wives, sons or daughters, that we just want to provide the best life for the people we love, the world would be a much better place. You can imagine how fast the commanders from all sides silenced the news of fraternization with the enemy because if it had caught on it would have been devastating. How easy is it to shoot at a new friend? Please watch it, it will help to renew your faith in man in some ways; in other ways it will infuriate you because some people still don’t get it.
