Am I the only one addicted to atole? If you haven’t ever tried atole or don’t know what it is, I’ll let you in on it’s glorious, chocolatey, creamy goodness. It is like a thick, Mexican hot chocolate. It is thickened with masa harina. I tried it in the past but didn’t love it. I found a new recipe this year after reading a compilation of Christmas memories and recipes written by Latino authors and poets. This new recipe is delectable and I would seriously consider trading in my morning coffee for atole if it didn’t take so much longer to make.
