Oh golly. They are forecasting some more wild weather for us. With all the inches and inches (actually feet by now probably) of rain we have gotten in the past week, we finally got a small break today. Tomorrow night, however, is supposed to bring another nasty storm. By nasty I mean more rain and potentially dangerous winds. As our ground is so soaked, the potential for trees falling increases with high winds. This is not a comfortable feeling when you have three trees over 60 feet tall in your yard. Lawrence is about 35 feet up in one of the trees now cabling the three main vertical branches together, on the advice of the tree cutter who worked on our cedar earlier in the fall. This will lessen damage should any of them break; a danger any winter, not specifically for this storm-just hastened by this storm. Hopefully the storm will come in farther to the south than they are anticipating and then the winds won’t be as strong.

Off to buy some bottled water and batteries now. Battening down the hatches up here…
