I finally took the time to sit down and read the manual for my serger and figure out how to thread it. The 3-thread overlock works like a charm and I need to figure out how to get the 5-thread overlock to work, because I can’t get the double chain stitch part of it to work, but I finished my first project using my serger and regular machine. I made a canvas grocery tote. I have been on a mission (some in the family would call it an obsession) to declutter our life and cut down on our waste and impact on the environment. Clearing out three grocery bags full of grocery bags sealed the deal for me on Monday, so I decided that this would be my next project. It turned out really nicely. It is just one layer of decorator canvas with nylon webbing handles and it is huge, slightly larger than a paper grocery bag. Maddy doesn’t like the pattern, but I do. I can’t wait to do the second one now and then use them. Take a look.
